It seems that these days that kids are always just playing on games consoles or asking to play the games on your phone. Where is the education and learning or is there something else going on?

Kids Can Have Fun With Educational Gadgets

They say that your school years are the best years of your life. When you are going through them it sounds like pure folly, yet when you get pushed out into the world to earn for your keep, you soon realise how cushy the school years really were. At the tail end of my school years the first gadgets we were interested in had just started to appear. I remember that these new gadgets were LED and then LCD Wristwatches, Calculators, then Solar-Powered Scientific Calculators. We thought that they were incredible. There were no educational computers as such; other than that the only personal computers were Sinclair ZX80’s!

’Kids these days don’t know that they are born’. They live in a world full of gadgets that help and entertain them. They have educational gadgets from an early age to help them speak, spell and count. In school, educational gadgets are at the forefront of learning. We had overhead projectors. They have flat screen interactive inter-classroom educational gadgets! Even when they play on toys such as the their DS consoles, they have games for ‘Brain Training’. Mind you even the adults are getting in the act on that one. Every which way you turn all of the gadget and games designers and manufacturers are putting their own spin on educational toys

So of course all of this sounds like I am really envious, right? Well, actually although it must be great to be living in a world of so many new gadgets, the thing is for the kids it must seem a bit mind-boggling. Can you imagine the distraction that gadgets that don’t have an educational perspective can cause? Whatever the pro's and con's, it seems that educational gadgets are here to stay in the main-stream and it seems obvious that in an ever increasing gadget-orientated world, they will play a huge part in the education of our children, they are more than just gadgets for men
